University of Bristol Think Big 獎學金獲獎分享

我是將前往英國UoB讀書的留學生且獲得2021年度的Think big獎學金

Major in MSc Finance and Investment，獲得 £5,000的獎金

本篇文章會介紹一下這個獎學金給需要的人當作申請參考

Bristol 每一年都會提供這個 ’Think Bing’獎學金給國際學生

獎金金額分為 £5,000/ £10,000/ £20,000 相當豐厚！

一. 申請條件 (For Postgraduate)

只要符合一年學制full-time海外碩士生的資格即可參加申請

所以是各個國家的人都可以並且獲取的獎學金將用於折抵學費！

學士生有一次申請機會 而碩士生將有兩次的申請機會

今年(2021)是在5月及6月時開放申請！(千萬不要錯過時間)

學校是說如果第一輪沒有獲得是能夠在第二輪被重新審查的！

我個人是在第二輪才申請，6/14截止，並在7/9之前收到結果回覆

申請這個獎學金需填寫一份線上的問題卷！

總共會有三題題目每題10分，字數限制每一題最多200個字

學校是說填寫這一份問題卷將可以獲得所有獎學金的競爭機會

並不確定學校是否只參考這份問卷或是有無參考其他入學申請資料

以下分享我回答題目的部分內容～

Q1: We are looking to support the brightest and best individuals who will actively contribute to the development of their nation in the future. Please describe any special attributes or accomplishments that you think make you deserving of a scholarship (10 marks available). *

第一題為描述你特別的貢獻與成就,說明你值得獲得這個獎學金

關鍵Two points:

1. any special attributes or accomplishments 可以論述多個項目
2. make you deserving of a scholarship 值得獲得的原因(記得要扣題)

我個人是寫我在大學時期當過證券研究社社長的經驗

並舉例我曾舉辦過的演講或是活動進而對社區造成的正面影響

這時候就要拿出雅思寫作的那套技巧：

For example, In addition, Moreover, As a result, In this experience,

列舉是並附上結論是使寫作邏輯清楚且循序的關鍵！

In this experience, I really improved my leadership, communication, and time management. However, the most important thing I learned is the significance of sharing and helping others. I think the contributions I have made above can prove that I am willing to contribute myself to the society as much as possible, and also prove that I am the person you want to support.

最後結尾緊扣為什麼我值得擁有這一份獎學金

千萬不要寫一寫離題太遠或是寫一些不適合題目的經驗喔！

第二題為舉例說明一個你曾對社區貢獻的例子

關鍵Two points:

1. give an example 僅需提供一個例子！

2. contributed to your community 針對社區的貢獻

當題目說明舉一個例子的時候就千萬不要廢話很多其他的事情

字數有限的情況之下，覺得必須一針見血的回答到問題的點很重要！

個人是每題回答的內容不重複，講過的資訊就不要再說一次

這樣可以增加你回答的廣泛度～

此題我描述我曾回去我畢業的大學協助老師R語言課程輔導與招生

當時系上老師開幾堂程式課邀請清水高中的學生來參訪科系

題目針對community，可以陳述你在你所生活的區域所做的事以及影響

Based on the feedbacks, I think such activities are effective for high school students in my community to experience college life and choose the most suitable major for the university. In my opinion, during this period, planning is more important than effort. While helping them make appropriate decisions, I discovered my interest in education. I think if I have an opportunity to contribute to education in the future I will be very pleasant.

最後結尾我帶向我對教育貢獻非常興趣，增加回答此題的宏觀性(有嗎?XD)

關鍵Two points:

1. your experience or interests,(‘or’請經驗或興趣二選一)
2. and your reasons for choosing both the programme of study and University of Bristol.(‘and’必要陳述就讀原因,科系及學校都要回答到)

先針對科系寫(+選擇這個科系與我的興趣相關)

I have the passion to become a trustworthy member of the financial industry. With my education and a strong desire to become an international financial consultant, I need to study abroad and expand my horizons, especially in University of Bristol, to complete my goal.

我寫了我未來想成為的職業緊扣我所就讀的科系

再針對學校寫

As Bristol is an important economic and trade center in the UK and a well-known technology city, there is also an international airport there, which brings together business elites and politicians from all over the world. For me who want to combine theory with practical applications, the University of Bristol provides the most ideal learning environment and high-quality teaching content! And study in University of Bristol will come to be precious experience for Taiwanese students, I will try my best to push the communication among the students from Bristol and Taiwan.

寫一下學校的特別的地方在哪讓你選擇了這個學校就讀～

畢竟學校提供了高額的獎學金，還是要稱讚一下學校的好哈哈

以上為我回答這三題題目的內容，附上我在7/5收到獎學金的email截圖

信中說明我是獲得Global Accounting & Finance Postgraduate Scholarship

爬了一些資料這個獎學金應該是屬於Think Big底下的

所以是Think Big獎學金底下會有很多細項獎學金

每個配的金額不太一樣～

回答完三題後他會詢問您是否要參與所有金額額的獎學金競選

我是都選是～ 勾選不是的話就是僅考慮最高金額£20,000的獎學金的樣子

覺得不管多或少，能拿到一點獎金補貼學費都好>_<

我的代辦跟我說他曾經有學生拿過£10,000 (好羨慕呀)

所以真的有機會領到更高額的獎金唷～
